Art Deco

Studying the brand Bill Amberg, a mens accessories and interior brand priding itself on its high quality leather craftsmanship, I was assigned the task to design a range that respects the image and ethos of the Bill Amberg brand. Having analysed his portfolio of work, it was his 'Stack Screen' for Hotel Wallpaper within his interiors range of work that I drew my inspiration. Portraying art deco influences, I decided to explore on the art deco theme, analysing the mentality during the period as well as the fashion and dress. Reflective of the mens accessories brand crossing over into womenswear, I decided to experiment with combining the periods flapper fashion with the traditional menswear suit, creating twists on the classic menswear attire in addition to hints towards the recognisable, geometric art deco patterns to produce modern and original designs.
